Contact Lens Fitting

There have been some very exciting advances in contact lens technology over the past several years. As such, there are now healthy and comfortable contact lens options for just about anyone. We stay abreast of these changes and use only the best quality, healthiest and most breathable lenses available. We expertly fit and offer the following types of contact lenses:

  • Breathable Contacts
  • Contacts for Dry Eyes
  • Contacts for Astigmatism
  • Monovision Contacts (Bifocal Alternative)
  • Bifocal and Multifocal Contacts
  • Cosmetic Contacts
  • Gas Permeable Contacts (also known as “rigid”)
  • Specialty Lenses (Keratoconus, Aphakia, etc.)
  • Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT)

If you are NEW to contact lenses, we will first determine your candidacy by performing a Vision and Eye Health Evaluation as well as measurements of the cornea (the front clear window of your eye). Once it is determined that your eyes are suitable for contact lens wear, we will schedule a time for you to return to our office for a “Contact Lens Training” (often this can be performed on the same day as your eye evaluation). The training involves instruction on proper care and handling of the lenses, as well on insertion and removal techniques.

If you CURRENTLY wear contact lenses, we will evaluate the lens fit, take measurements of your cornea and discuss all of your contact lens options. After the optimal lens is fit on your eyes, you will be scheduled for a follow-up exam to recheck the lens fit and order your annual contact lens supply.

Although we carry a large supply of diagnostic contact lenses in our office, sometimes we must order lenses and have you return to the office when they arrive to evaluate the fit and health.

NOTE: Most insurance plans do not consider a contact lens exam as part of an annual comprehensive exam (not a covered service). Therefore, unless specified by your insurance company, a contact lens fitting or evaluation is an out-of-pocket expense. Please check with your insurance company or call our office for more information.
