Comprehensive Eye Care
Triangle Eye Institute provides comprehensive Vision and Eye Health Evaluations. Each evaluation is broken down into two categories: Vision Evaluation and Eye Health Evaluation.
Vision Evaluation
The vision evaluation focuses on your specific visual needs. In this part of the examination we use automated equipment as well as manual testing to determine your unique eyeglass prescription. Each person uses their eyes differently on a daily basis. For example, a computer analyst has different visual needs than someone who travels for a living. Therefore, we specifically address occupational needs, as well as recreational needs and hobbies. After all, glasses that work well for you in the office may not work as well on the golf course.
Eye Health Evaluation
The second part of the evaluation involves examining the eyes for signs of disease such as Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Cataracts, Diabetes and Retinal problems. To do this we must enlarge the pupils so that we can see into the back of your eyes. To enlarge the pupils we use special eye drops.
Every eye health exam include testing and evaluation for (partial list):
- Glaucoma
- Cataracts
- Macular Degeneration
- Ocular Melanoma
- Eyelid Disease and Lesions
- “Lazy Eye” or Amblyopia
- Vein or Artery Occlusions
- Diabetic Retinopathy
- Retinal Detachments
- Hypertensive Retinopathy
- Dry Eye Inflammation
- Thyroid Ophthalmopathy
- “Eye Turn” or Strabismus
- Cholesterol Plaques
At the conclusion of your evaluation, our doctors will review all findings, discuss concerns and answer any questions you may have. Our patients leave our office confident that their eye health was thoroughly evaluated, satisfied that they have been educated on all of their vision correction options and pleased to know their glasses and contact lenses were fit with great care and accuracy.
